Travel independently or with a guide (languages: English, Russian).

Day 1: Deer Lake
Pick up your rental car. Drive to Rocky Harbour.
Rocky Harbour is a scenic coastal town in the heart of Gros Morne National Park, Newfoundland. Known for its stunning fjords, rugged coastline, and dense forests, it’s a paradise for nature lovers and adventure seekers.

Day 2: Rocky Harbour – Gros Morne National Park – Rocky Harbour
In the morning, take a short hike to the Western Brook cruise. Enjoy a cruise through the fjord. In the afternoon, hike to the Tablelands. Explore the unique geology of the plateau. This is one of the few places on Earth where you can walk on the Earth’s mantle. Mantle cooled millions of years ago (not to be confused with magma rocks). The barren, orange-brown landscape is often compared to the surface of Mars. The lack of vegetation and the unusual color of the peridotite rock create a surreal, otherworldly scene. Gros Morne National Park, including the Tablelands, is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Overnight in Rocky Harbour.

Day 3: Rocky Harbour – Twillingate
Drive to Twillingate (4.5 hours).
Twillingate is a charming town known as the “Iceberg Capital of the World.” From the Long Point Lighthouse enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding coastline. It’s a must-visit spot for photographers and history enthusiasts alike. Take a hike along the ocean. Overnight in Twillingate.

Day 4: Twillingate – Gander – Terra Nova National Park
In the morning, take a whale-watching cruise. Twillingate is famous for its whale tours, where you can often spot humpback whales, minke whales, and orcas. It’s a fantastic destination for marine wildlife enthusiasts.
After the cruise, drive to Gander. Known as the “Crossroads of the World,” Gander has historical significance in aviation.
On September 11, 2001, Gander became globally known. 38 planes with nearly 7,000 passengers were diverted to Gander International Airport after the terrorist attacks. The town showed incredible hospitality and compassion, inspiring the Broadway show Come From Away.
Next, head through Terra Nova National Park. Don’t miss the scenic overlooks to take in the vast boreal forests and coastal views. Overnight in Clarenville.

Day 5: Terra Nova – Bonavista – Trinity
Drive from Terra Nova to Bonavista. And then to Elliston and Trinity—one of the most scenic and historically rich routes in the province.
Visit the famous Bonavista Lighthouse, built in 1843. Explore the “Devil’s Eyes” Provincial Park. Elliston is one of the best places to spot the adorable puffins.
End the day in the charming town of Trinity. Overnight in Trinity.

Day 6: Trinity – Harbour Grace – Witless Bay
Start the day with a visit to Harbour Grace Lighthouse. Perched at the tip of the peninsula, it offers stunning views of Conception Bay. Visit the site where Amelia Earhart began her historic flight. Don’t miss the historic Stone Jug restaurant for a taste of local culture.
Then, continue to the unique natural beauty of Witless Bay. Overnight in Witless Bay.

Day 7: Witless Bay
Witless Bay Ecological Reserve is famous for its large seabird colonies. The reserve includes four islands that are home to millions of seabirds, including puffins.
In the morning, enjoy a cruise for whale and puffin watching. In the afternoon, take a hike along the East Coast Trail to the suspension bridge. Enjoy the scenic spots along the route. Overnight in Witless Bay.

Day 8: Witless Bay – Mistaken Point – St. John’s
Visit another UNESCO World Heritage Site: Mistaken Point. Located on the southeastern tip of the Avalon Peninsula, Mistaken Point reveals a magical world of ancient marine life frozen in time. These ancient cliffs, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, hold fossils of life forms that existed over 565 million years ago.
As you walk along the rocky shores, step back into a prehistoric era when Earth was young, and the oceans were beginning to teem with life. Here, on the stone surfaces, you can see fossils of unusual creatures from the Precambrian period. These soft-bodied organisms, preserved forever in stone, create a unique gallery of natural relics. Each fossil like a message from the distant past. Every imprint tells its own story of the origins of life on our planet. After exploring Mistaken Point, continue to St. John’s. Enjoy an evening stroll around the city. Overnight in St. John’s.

Day 9: St. John’s
Return the car at the airport. Departure home.
End of Program.
